Mobility Aids for the home
There are lots of different ways to enhance your mobility in your home, from small gadgets like fall devices to home lifts that can carry wheelchair users between floors. In this article, we put together a guide on one of the most affordable and effective mobility aids for the home… the Stairlift. A stairlift can change the way you live in your home by allowing you to easily glide between floors and avoid the struggle of climbing up and down your stairs, which makes it a great mobility aid for your home.
Stairlifts for the home
A Stairlift can be a perfect mobility aid for your home as it will allow you to easily get up and down the stairs without the struggle or strain that you may have started to experience with getting between the floors in your home. There are multiple types of stairlifts that you can have that can be tailored to your specific needs and requirements. Straight stairlifts are made specifically for straight staircases but you can also have a curved stairlift that is made to fit staircases with bends and curves in it. There are also options for more modern stairlifts, stairlifts that are capable of holding heavier loads and stairlifts that can go outdoors.
How much do stairlifts cost?
The price of a stairlift can vary based on a few different factors. A stairlift can easily be the most cost-effective mobility aid for the home, and it can be very affordable for anyone struggling with mobility. There are 4 different options when it comes to buying a stairlift and each option comes with a different price. Firstly, a curved stairlift will be the most expensive as the rail is custom-made to fit every unique staircase. Another option is a straight stairlift, which is specifically for straight stairs and will bring the cost of the lift down. We also offer reconditioned and rental options, a reconditioned stairlift is a straight stairlift that we have removed and refurbished, and the price is lower than a new straight stairlift. A rental option is the most affordable option, consisting of a small upfront cost and then £50 per month going forward.
